This was a pretty exciting weekend in college football. The top teams when at it again and after a long fought Saturday there were no major upsets. The biggest news of the weekend was soon after the Michigan State Spartans beat the Notre Dame Irish in overtime, head coach Mark Dantonio suffered a mild heart attack. He is now out indefinitely as head coach of the Spartans. He definitely played a gutsy call on that play in overtime to win the game. Play of the year most likely.

Penn State took down Kent state in Happy Valley with a score of 24 to nothing. This was a no contest game after last week’s game against Alabama Crimson Tide. The Penn State stout defense held them to zero points. The Ohio State buckeyes won with ease against Ohio 43 to 7. An upset that almost occurred was the Michigan Wolverines just barely beating UMass. Alabama came off a big win against Duke 62 to 13.

The only big upset of the weekend was the Arizona Wildcats beating the Iowa Hawkeyes in Arizona. The top 10 rankings should stay the same except for the Iowa Hawkeyes will probably fall out significantly after that loss. The Boise Broncos crushed Wyoming 51-6.
